About

Technology that holds up in real operations

My work sits where technology, finance and day-to-day operations meet. I support users and devices, but I also trace ledger faults, structure migrations, build management reporting, map payment flows and turn repeated operational work into governed automation.

I'm currently an IT Officer at Nova Microfinance. My portfolio spans core banking and loan-management support, data reconciliation, reporting platforms, payments and messaging integrations, access and device administration, vendor escalation, documentation, training and process improvement.

The thread across the work is simple: understand what the system is really doing, make the evidence visible, then leave behind a process that is safer and easier to run.

  • Based in: Kampala, Uganda
  • Current focus: Financial systems, data and automation
  • Working style: Evidence-led, practical and operations-aware
  • Languages: English, Ateso and basic Kumam

Selected systems work

Selected work in financial systems

Six reviewed examples show the range: migration, accounting integrity, payments, reporting, knowledge operations and asset-linked lending. Sensitive details are intentionally summarized.

01
Core banking · Data migration

Core Banking Migration

Reconstructed the link between a legacy lending platform and Apache Fineract, then built the mapping and reconciliation layer Finance could validate before migration.

  • 455 source tables inventoried
  • 810K+ ledger records reconciled
  • 12/12 data domains matched
Apache FineractPythonSQLDocker
02
Accounting systems · Controls

General Ledger Remediation

Traced payment-routing and reporting faults that distorted control accounts, then produced a correction schedule and verified the deployment path.

  • 4 financial reports corrected
  • 35/35 deployment actions verified
  • 31/31 mapping checks passed

03
Payments · Integrations

Payment Reconciliation Engine

Mapped a live mobile-money application from the outside when no source was available, exposing transactions marked complete before money had arrived.

  • 7,500+ unreconciled records surfaced
  • 5 providers and formats reconciled
  • 4 modules mapped without source
LaravelMySQLAPIsSMS gateways
04
Reporting · Decision support

Operational Reporting Platform

Moved management reporting away from late, conflicting spreadsheets into role-scoped dashboards and a dependable daily reporting cadence.

  • 4 role-scoped access levels
  • 4 analytics dashboards
  • Daily director reporting cadence

05
AI operations · Governance

Knowledge Operations for AI Agents

Built a durable operating memory for AI-assisted engineering: verified tooling, incident history, system findings and rules that surface at the point of work.

  • 104 tools registered with verification
  • 131 incidents and workarounds documented
  • 130 verified system findings

Assets · Lending integrations

Fleet & Loan Enforcement Prototype

Built and verified the decision layer connecting repayment status, asset records and two telematics providers. Enforcement remains a controlled prototype, not a live automated system.

  • 640+ tracked devices
  • 820+ asset records merged
  • 2 telematics providers integrated

Products

What I build

Systems I design and deliver

Products and builds I take on directly, from connected hardware through to the reporting layer above it. Available for partnership, contract or in-house delivery.

RFID Smart Business Cards

Tap-to-share contact and profile cards built on programmable NFC/RFID tags, with the landing profile hosted and updatable without reprinting the card.

Smart Keys & Vehicle Immobilisation

Keyless vehicle access and remote enable/disable, designed so the safe state is the default and every command leaves an audit trail.

Fleet Management Systems

Asset registers, rider and vehicle assignment, trip history and utilisation reporting — built to reconcile against the finance system rather than sit beside it.

GPS & Telematics Design

Device integration, location and event pipelines, geofencing and provider-agnostic connectors, so a change of hardware vendor is a configuration change.

HR Systems

Staff records, leave, attendance and payroll-adjacent workflows, with the approval chain and evidence trail built in rather than bolted on.

Dashboards & Reporting Systems

Role-scoped dashboards and scheduled management reporting on a defined metric layer, so two people asking the same question get the same number.

System & Data Migration

Source cataloguing, field mapping, reconciliation and cutover validation — with the evidence Finance needs to sign off before anything moves.

Core Banking Implementation

Apache Fineract and Mifos X setup: products, charges, accounting rules and GL mappings configured and proven on a test tenant before they touch production.

Payments & Mobile-Money Integration

Collections from mobile-money and bank channels matched to accounts and posted to the core system, with a reconciliation sweep for anything that does not land.

Messaging & Notification Gateways

SMS and WhatsApp delivery for reminders, receipts and alerts — built provider-agnostic so a gateway change is not a rewrite.

AI Agent & Knowledge Operations

Durable operating memory for AI-assisted engineering: verified tooling registers, incident history and rules that surface at the point of work rather than in a wiki.

IT & Systems Consultancy

Systems review, vendor and integration assessment, data-quality audits and a written path from where a system is now to where it needs to be.

Web Applications & Portals

Customer and staff-facing portals, internal tools and the dashboards that sit over them — built on the systems underneath rather than beside them.

Field notes

Lessons that were expensive the first time

Notes on migration technique, incident documentation and why a tool being installed tells you nothing about whether it actually runs.

It was installed. Configured. Documented. Scheduled. And it had never run once.

Good systems work is visible, testable and maintainable.

I'm interested in financial technology, operational data and automation work where reliability matters as much as the interface.
